St. Pete STEAMfest at Shorecrest: Saturday, 10 am-2 pm: Attend a free community celebration of science, technology, engineering, arts and math at Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Pete. Event will feature hands on-learning including robotics and electronics building, arts and crafts, LEGOs and marble tracks. Food trucks as well as representatives from Busch Gardens, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Great Explorations, the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Wonder Studio and more will be on hand at this event geared to ages 2-12. more.shorecrest.org/STEAM
Gasparilla Music Festival’s Recycled Tunes Instrument Drive: 11 am- 2 pm at Channelside Bay Plaza: Haven’t played that guitar in a while? Still have that clarinet you played or your child played in 5th grade? GMF has you covered! Bring your gently used instrument to the Recycled Tunes Instrument Drive on February 4th and receive a FREE A 2 DAY GA TICKET to Gasparilla Music Festival, taking place March 11-12, 2017! Plan to enjoy a day of music and fun with the whole family even if you don’t have an instrument to donate! There will be several live performances thanks to the Patel Conservatory. All donations will benefit Hillsborough County schools and music programs. Monster Jam: Saturday times vary for different events: Check out the monster trucks and drivers vying for the Tampa championship at Raymond James Stadium. Watch 12 feet tall and 12 feet wide custom-designed machines as they fly up to 35 feet in the air and over a distance spanning more than 14 cars side by side. A Party in the Pits takes place 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. giving fans a chance to get up close with Monster Jam trucks and drivers for $10 with a show ticket and for free at participating Southern Ford Dealers. For show tickets, go to monsterjam.com. The gates open at 5pm with grand opening ceremonies beginning at 6pm. The big show starts at 7pm.
Rays Fan Fest at Tropicana Field, Saturday from 11 am-4 pm: Bring the entire family to this FREE event to meet 60 current and former MLB players and coaches, take part in free family-friendly activities and even take big league pictures in the dugout! There are several special activities being featured including a Charity Yard Sale where you can pick up Rays items starting at $5 and take part in the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Kids’ Interactive Zone. Busch Gardens Preschool Card: If you haven’t registered online with Busch Gardens Tampa for your young child’s FREE Preschool Card, consider doing that this weekend! Kids 5 and younger can attend Busch Gardens Tampa and Sea World Orlando for FREE through the end of the year. You MUST register online first. The pass is not available at the park. Get your pass here.
