Geek out at GEEK WEEK at Glazer Children’s Museum

Geek out at Geek Week at Glazer Children’s Museum Friday, December 1 through Friday, December 8. The interactive hands on event is included with your museum admission!

Your children will get a chance to learn more about coding, robotics and narrative play, so head to the new Gadget Garage on the second floor to experience it for yourself!

Geek Week events:

Saturday, December 2, 10am-2pm | In-Make It!

Bring in an old toy and small electronics and take them apart to learn more about how stuff works! Once you are done, the museum will safely recycle all of the parts and pieces.

Sunday, December 3, Member Morning 10am-1pm | General Admission 1pm-6pm |Code-a-thon

GCM is teaming up with Everybody Code Now! for a day of game development and coding programs every hour on the hour at the new Gadget Garage.

Monday, December 4 | In-Make It Monday!

Bring in an old toy and small electronics and take them apart to learn more about how stuff works! Once you are done, the museum will safely recycle all of the parts and pieces. The Gadget Garage will be open and filled with robots and more technology. The SMALLab will also be open.

Tuesday, December 5 | FREE Tuesday with Peg + Cat from PBS! | 12pm-7pm

Peg + Cat appearances are scheduled for 2:30pm, 4pm and 6pm. Head to GCM on Tuesday for Free Admission Tuesday courtesy of The Children’s Board of Hillsborough County! The Florida Orchestra Instrument Petting Zoo will also be on hand!

Wednesday, December 6 | SMALLab 10:30am and 1:30pm | Coding with Cookies 12pm and 2pm

Head to the SMALLab motion-capture at 10:30am and 1:30pm. You can also participate in Coding with Cookies at 12pm and 2pm to use cookies to create a message in binary code.

Thursday, December 7 | Tinker and Tech Day: Binary Bracelets | 2pm and 3pm

Make a bracelet that spells out your name in binary code!

Friday, December 8 | Hour of Code Programs | 12pm and 2pm

Learn to code using the official curriculum of Hour of Code!
