It’s that time again! Halloween is ever nearer, making it the perfect time for you decide how you want to celebrate with your kids. This year, you can celebrate with the fishes and other marine life at the Florida Aquarium’s annual event, Guppyween! Home to 7,000 animals and plants from Florida and around the world, the Florida Aquarium is prepared to give your children a Halloween celebration to remember.
Guppyween will be held on October 28th and 29th from 1pm to 5pm. Children can come in costume and trick-or-treat at candy stations throughout the aquarium. There will also be family-friendly entertainment, special Halloween themed talks at the Rangers Stations, and a Halloween themed scavenger hunt. Your kids will also have the opportunity to enjoy science experiments, crafts and games at the Learning Center! Aquarium divers will even show children some underwater pumpkin carving.
At Guppyween, you and your kids will be able to take advantage of all these Halloween activities and still enjoy the normal Aquarium exhibits you know and love. During Guppyween, all exhibits, including the outdoor plaza and the Fins bar, the Splash Pad and the new 4D Theater will be open like usual!
For all kids eleven and under in costume, admission is only $10, less than half of regular admission pricing! For adults and children not in costume, admission is regular pricing. And if you have a small child 2 or younger, admission is free. With all the activities and fun Guppyween has to offer, you and your kids will have a blast.
The Aquarium will also be hosting a sensory-friendly “Sensory Guppyween” celebration on Saturday, October 28 from 8:30am-9:30am which will give children and their families a chance to trick-or-treat and celebrate in a low-stress environment. There will be no loud music, flashing lights or special effects and the water on the Splash Pad will also be turned off. The cost for this event is $5 for kids and adults. Members and children 2 and younger are free. Participants are also invited to stay and celebrate after this special event.
If you haven’t visited the Florida Aquarium before, this is your chance! And if you have, come back anyway. Your kids will love the Halloween activities and the Aquarium exhibits, making sure that your children’s Halloween will be a great one.
