National Championship Events: Kick-Off Family Fun!

2017 College Football Playoff National Championship Tampa Bay


College Football is about to take over Tampa Bay and we can’t wait! The 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship is more than just the game, it’s a whole series of events that include many opportunities for the entire family to experience the fun together. Check out this schedule to find an event that fits your family’s schedule!

2017 College Football Playoff National Championship Events:

AT&T Playoff Playlist LIVE!  |   Jan. 6 (5-11 p.m.) Jan. 7 & 8 (noon – 11 p.m.)

Don’t miss this free three-day music festival at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. On Friday, Eric Paslay will perform along with The Shadowboxers and Clare Dunn. Flo Rida will headline Saturday’s performance with an additional performance by Rachel Patten and Cold War Kids. On Sunday, Jay Pharoah will be the guest host with Usher as the headlining act. Gavin DeGraw and Jamie N Commons will also perform on Sunday.


2017 College Football Playoff National Championship Tampa Bay

Playoff Fan Central  |   Jan. 6 (3-8 p.m.), Jan. 7 & 8 (noon – 8 p.m.)

Head to the Tampa Convention Center to experience a 200,000-square foot college football themed park. The family-friendly event includes youth clinics, autograph sessions and pep rallies. Playoff Fan Central runs Friday, Jan. 6 through Sunday, Jan. 8. Single-tickets are $8 ($10 day of event) and children 12 and under are free with an accompanied adult.



2017 College Football Playoff National Championship Tampa Bay

Media Day  |  Jan. 7, 9 a.m.-noon

Be there at the Amalie Arena as national media conducts interviews with coaches and student-athletes prior to the title game. ESPN will broadcast live from this free event. As an added bonus, fans who attend will also receive a complimentary ticket to Playoff Fan Central being held at the Tampa Convention Center through Sunday, January 8.


Extra Yard 5K  |  Jan. 8, 8 a.m.

Sign up for a family-friendly race held in conjunction with the College Football Playoff National Championship hosted here in Tampa. The 5K race takes a scenic route through iconic Bayshore Boulevard and downtown Tampa. The 5K starts at 8 a.m. with a Fun Run at 9 a.m. Fees are $30 for 5K and $15 for Fun Run. Proceeds benefit Extra Yard for Teachers. Register at


Championship Beach Bash  |  Jan. 8, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Pack up the whole family for this fun event at Pier 60 Park along the white, sandy beaches of Clearwater Beach. Pep rally atmosphere offers a celebrity flag football game, “Kids Zone” with games, inflatables, live music and more. For more information, call 727-562-4700.


Taste of the Championship  |  Jan. 8, 7-10 p.m.

Sample gourmet foods and beverages representing geographic regions from around the country at this special foodie event hosted by The Florida Aquarium in Tampa. Event will feature a variety of Tampa restaurants including 717 South, Ava, Bern’s Steak House, Goody Goody, Mise en Place and others. Cost is $250 general admission. Proceeds from the event support the College Football Playoff Foundation.
