Who says kids should have all the fun? We’re sharing some of our favorite ways to channel your inner child and PLAY while the kids are safe at home with a sitter or the grandparents!
Lucky you for calling Tampa Bay home because there are so many ways to get out and enjoy what’s out there! So, let’s get to it!
ONE: A Night at the Museum
Local museums like Glazer Children’s Museum and MOSI host special events on select dates throughout the year, and lucky YOU, they’ve got some awesome adults-only nights coming up soon! Glazer Children’s Museum hosts about six adults-only events per year and MOSI hosts around three.

Play like it’s 1990 or 1980 something as you and your fellow grownups take over Glazer Children’s Museum for a spring break-inspired night! There will be free beer from Florida Avenue Brewing, free snacks from local restaurants and a cash bar. This event is for the 21+ only crowd only!

Explore MOSI and put your STEM skills to work as you sample free wine and beer (21+ crowd only, of course!). You’ll also be able to sample foods from local restaurants.
TWO: Soar to New Heights
Aim for the sky at SkyZone Trampoline Park. This place is a blast with the kids but even more fun when it’s just you and your closest pals! You can freestyle jump or give your SkySlam skills a try and take the slam dunk to new heights! There are SkyZones located in Tampa and Clearwater.
THREE: Go Wild with some special events just for you!
Elevate your visit to ZooTampa or Busch Gardens with amazing animal experiences. Take a Backstage tour at ZooTampa or book a Sloth Encounter and/or a Serengeti Safari at Busch Gardens. Usually, these experiences are off-limits if you have very young kids with you, so take advantage of this time to do something unique! Sea Grapes Wine and Food returns to the Florida Aquarium on May 30, 2020-where adults take over to sip 100+ wines and beers and taste delicious samples from restaurants across Tampa Bay.
ZooTampa, Busch Gardens, and the Florida Aquarium are also hosting these awesome events that are perfect for a date night:
Events to put on the calendar:

Splash Back Extended Hours at the Florida Aquarium

FOUR: Go gaming!
Head to PK’s PlayZone & Grille in Tampa or GameTime in Centro Ybor. One of our favorite ways to get to GameTime is by TECO Streetcar. Grab dinner at Sparkman Wharf and then trolley over to GameTime for some arcade fun! Speaking of fun, the kids love laser tag, so why not give it a try at Q-Zar in Tampa!
FIVE: Set sail on a swashbuckling adventure!
Pirate Water Taxi’s recently expanded its fleet and our favorite new addition is the pirate ship, the Lost Pearl! While it’s a blast for kids, it’s also a perfect outing for just the parents. Head to the grog bar for a pint or two and a cruise through downtown Tampa. You can also board the Pirate Water Taxi boats where there are 70+ restaurants along the water taxi routes!
Extra Credit: Go for the sweets!
Celebrity favorite The Sugar Factory is now open at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa! There are some sweet and salty bites and 21+ drinks like you’ve never tasted before.
We’re also fans of Aubi and Ramsa Ice Cream which is also in the Seminole Hard Rock Casino. There is another location on W. Kennedy Blvd near Downtown Tampa. The spiked ice-cream features flavors like The Strawberries Rose with Veuve Clicquot and St. Germain.
