Laura Byrne - Editorial Director + Writer

Laura Byrne is an award-winning former television news journalist who spent 15+ years in newsrooms across the state of Florida including Sarasota, Tallahassee, Fort Myers and right here in Tampa Bay where she still freelances on occasion. She covered the political beat, crime beat and every day breaking news during her time in Florida newsrooms, but is now focused on sharing positive news stories and events with families in Tampa Bay. She is a proud mommy of two little boys who keep her on her toes and laughing every day. Her goal is to inspire families just like yours to get out and play and experience all that Tampa Bay and our great state of Florida have to offer! She encourages you to share your stories and upcoming events so we can spread the good news.

Anu Varma Panchal – Associate Editor + Writer

Associate Editor Anu Varma Panchal has a master’s degrees in journalism and more than 15 years of experience writing and editing for newspapers and magazines in Illinois, Iowa and Florida. She has lived in Florida for more than 10 years, and enjoys raising her two daughters in Tampa Bay.

When Anu isn’t writing or editing for area publications, she’s busy driving her kids to all their music and dance activities. She volunteers regularly in her daughters’ schools and Parent Teacher Associations, and spent a wonderful two years immersed in local history as a volunteer in the Tampa Bay History Museum’s Collections department. Although her idea of the ultimate good time is usually found between the pages of a book, Anu also enjoys yoga, her book club, travel, theater and area food and music festivals.

Nicole Barolo - Layout + Design

Nicole Barolo is the mompreneuer behind the boutique graphic design shop, Page Four Creative. A Tampa native, you can usually find her spending time outside with her husband and spirited five and seven-year-old boys When she’s not creating art, she loves learning new things, listening to indie rock, and wine and cheese parties. Nicole is excited to be a part of the creative team at Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine.

Sarah Stoulil - Editorial Assistant

Editorial Assistant, Sarah Stoulil, has a degree in Vocal Performance Musical Theatre, as well as minors in Business and Entrepreneurship. Originating from California, Iowa, and Kansas, she is happy to now call Tampa home. When not keeping Tampa Bay Parenting organized behind the scenes, you may see her portraying many of your favorite princesses with Parties with Character.

Darlene Barlows is the owner of Darlene Barlows Photography. She is a Fine Arts Graduate from the Florida State University, a native of Tampa and a 5th generation Floridian. Heather DeManche - Family Fun Contributor

Heather is a fourth generation Tampanian and a graduate of the University of Tampa. She worked in news for ten years, from WFLA In Tampa to C-SPAN in Washington, DC. She left the fast paced news environment for an even crazier beast, taking on the roll of domestic engineer after having her second child. She now spends her days and nights planning fun and educational outings in and around the Tampa Bay area to keep her three boys busy and out of trouble.

Julianne Hendrickson – Life + Home Contributor

Julianne Hendrickson is the owner of Hendrickson Interiors. She manages dozens of accounts ranging from playroom re-designs to full home sourcing and styling in the Tampa Bay area. She also offers e-design to clients outside of Tampa Bay. There are many ways to utilize Julianne’s resources. She is available to work for you as a consultant in order to answer any design questions for projects you feel comfortable tackling on your own, but she can also completely source, layout, and design a room from start to finish without you lifting a finger. She works with a multitude of professionals ranging from carpenters and contractors to painters and electricians. Anna Tataris de Jesus – Family Fun/Travel Contributor

Anna Tataris de Jesus is an Emmy–nominated television journalist with a passion for traveling with her family. After 15 years on camera, Anna gave up hard news for travel reporting. In 2012, she and her husband Roy, also an Emmy–nominated television journalist, created “The Great Escape Plan” to travel Europe with their daughter Sophia and son Nikolas. Together they create videos for social media and their website TheGreatEscapePlan.com in hopes to inspire other families to travel Family Style.

Dr. Jill Hechtman - Ask the Doctor

Jill Hechtman started her medical career at Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth Dominica. After medical school she started an anesthesiology residency in Chicago at RUSH University, where she met the love of her life, Dr. Jason Hechtman. After completing two years of Anesthesiology, Jill decided that she desired to be an OB/GYN, and transferred to Wayne State University for her four year residency in OB/GYN. After completion, both Jason and Jill moved to Tampa.

Since moving to Tampa, Jill has become the Medical Director of Tampa Obstetrics and is currently also serving as the Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital in Tampa. She is the past Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brandon Regional Hospital and served on the hospital’s Board of Trustees for 2 years. She is a frequent face in local media as “Dr. Jill” and is also answers reader questions as our Dr. Mom. Jill was also recently appointed as a member of the Florida House of Representatives Medicaid Low Income Pool Council. She is also featured in various videos about pregnancy, which can be found on her website under “Patient Education”. One of her proudest moments was the birth of her daughter.  The two of them share a common interest in horses.
