The Florida Aquarium announces BIG additions to celebrate its 25th Anniversary!

The Florida Aquarium is going big for its 25th anniversary, recently announcing 14 months of expansions and enhancements…and of course, even more family-friendly FUN!

Be on the look out for giveaways and even $19.95 admission deals on select weekends throughout the year! Why $19.95? 1995 is the year The Florida Aquarium officially opened its doors!

Parents–stay tuned for more details on an unforgettable parents night out, the Leap with the Fishes adult slumber party on Leap Day!

Here’s a look at some of the additions and changes coming this year:

Florida Aquarium expansion

February 2020: CIBC Aquatic Lounge:

This new event space will feature state of the art exhibits with new animals at the Aquarium.


Florida Aquarium Washed Ashore art exhibit

Spring 2020: Washed Ashore, “Art to Save the Sea”:

This traveling art exhibit curated for The Florida Aquarium features sculptures made from plastic debris pulled up from the beaches. This is the first time it will be displayed in Florida.


Florida Aquarium new wetlands exhibit 

Summer 2020: Wetlands Trail Exhibit and Enhancement: 

The Florida Wetlands Trail where the otters, alligators and birds call home is getting a new updated look, including a new hands-on experience where guests can touch live animals native to Florida.


Florida Aquarium new shorelines exhibit

Fall 2020: Bays & Beaches Gallery will become Shorelines. 

This exhibit is not only getting a new name, it’s also getting a new modern look with updated graphics, interactive exhibits and habitats.


Florida Aquarium Solar Rooftop

Fall 2020: TECO Rooftop Pavilion & Solar Exhibit: 

More than 1,100 solar panels will cover the two of the largest habitats and educate about solar power.


Florida Aquarium Coral Arks

November 2020 and Fall 2021: Coral Complex Additions

The Florida Aquarium continues its commitment to expand coral conservation facilities. The new Coral Arks will increase ability to breed and rear coral by 50 percent. The facility ipening next year will build on those efforts.


Florida Aquarium Butterfly Garden

March 2021: The Butterfly Garden

This will be a FREE, temporary exhibit in front of the Aquarium as a way to say thank you to the Tampa Bay community!
