Glasses For All Children Mural unveiled at Armature Works as part of #OneShareOnePair campaign.
We’re all pretty well versed at taking a selfie these days, right? Get your camera ready and head to Armature Works because a simple selfie is all it takes to help provide a free eye exam and pair of glasses for a child who needs them.
You’ll find the vibrant new mural on the north end of the Armature Works property which faces the Pearl Apartment Complex. Take a stroll over and strike your best pose in front of the mural and SNAP away! You can even take a selfie wearing any type of glasses (You can add sticker glasses if you don’t have any handy) OR if you’re not photo ready, a photo of just the mural works too!
Post your pic on social with the hashtag #OneShareOnePair and tag @glazervisionfdn. With this simple post and tag, the Glazer Vision Foundation will provide a free eye exam and glasses to a local child as part of its “Glasses For All Children” mission. Pretty darn cool and it’s a pretty darn easy to make a difference.
“We are proud to contribute to one of our area’s most vibrant destinations while supporting children throughout Tampa Bay,” said Darcie Glazer Kassewitz, Owner/President of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation and Glazer Vision Foundation. “Every child deserves the opportunity to excel in school to the best of their ability, yet one in four children are affected by vision impairment and one in five can’t afford eye care. We encourage the community to help spread awareness of this silent vision crisis by sharing selfies and photos of the mural with #OneShareOnePair as we join together to provide free eye exams and glasses to all children in need.”
The Glazer Vision Foundation has provided more than 100,000 free eye screenings and 20,000 free prescription glasses to underserved children. You might have seen the Mobile Vision Clinic on the road before. This vehicle helps the foundation bring doctors, nurses and eye care specialists to children in the Tampa Bay area. It even has an on-site prescription lens lab and full selection of eye glass frames. Awesome, right??
Vision correction is critical to helping children learn and succeed in the classroom. In fact, the Glazer Vision Foundation was created in honor of the late Malcom Glazer who attributed his first pair of prescription glasses to enhancing his ability to learn and succeed as a child.
And now your family can play a role in helping a child while capturing a colorful moment in time together.
“After the success of the Glazer Vision Foundation eyeglasses sculpture at Armature Works we are excited to host the mural,” said Chas Bruck, Principal Partner at Armature Works. “The community art project will not only help beautify the Heights District but will also help families in need so it’s a win/win.”
