Roll back the clock a century and join the Henry Plant Museum for an old-fashioned picnic on Sunday, March 7th, starting at 11 am, in Plant Park. Bring your blanket, pack a picnic basket and the whole family will experience the pleasures of a simpler time in a safe environment. Relax in the shade of the historic De Soto oak as you enjoy entertainment on Center Stage.
Victorian traditions come to life at Picnic in the Park with Tampa Regional Artists’ plein air painting activity. Materials will be provided so you can find inspiration in nature’s beauty throughout all 7 acres of Plant Park. Children will love meeting a new furry friend with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
For the past 16 years the community has enjoyed this annual event. Returning visitors will find new safety precautions in place this year as visitor safety is a top priority at this outdoor event. All guests will be asked to social distance as they picnic, and audience seating will be spaced 6 ft. apart. Hand sanitizer will be available at the welcome table and in Plant Hall.
A variety of entertainment can be found on Center Stage. Whether you prefer bluegrass, classical, big band or jazz, you will enjoy our lineup of local talent.
Picnic in the Park is a perfect opportunity to lull in a haven of rest and contentment on the banks of the Hillsborough River. Bring your own picnic basket, chairs, blankets and coolers and enjoy the day. A limited number of family picnic tables are available for $20. To reserve your table, contact Todd Edwards 813.258.7301 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step back in time and encounter what life was like at the former Tampa Bay Hotel by exploring the Henry B. Plant Museum from noon-5 pm. To ensure visitor safety, admission is limited to 25 people per hour; masks and temperature checks required prior to entry.
