What’s NEW at Tampa Bay’s Family-Friendly Attractions

Spring is a time of renewal and in the case of several area attractions, it’s a time to unveil some awesome NEW kid-friendly exhibits and activities! We’ve rounded up some of our favorite new additions around Tampa Bay we think your family will love! 


Blast off into outer space! Come sit in the pilot’s seat of tomorrow’s space craft in our new traveling exhibit: Be the Astronaut. Visitors will learn about the challenges and excitement of spaceflight – then apply that knowledge as they fly a spaceship in a thrilling narrative adventure to the Moon, Mars and beyond. Tampa Bay attractions

The Glazer Children’s Museum has installed a new ball pit that is bigger and better than ever in 3 and under exhibit on the first floor, Tug Boat Tots.  

Save the Date and Register Early!Holi Festival
May 20, 10am-12:30pm 

The Glazer Children’s Museum is Going Global this May with cultural celebrations from across the globe. In honor of the Hindu Spring festival, Holi, celebrated in India, Nepal, and around the World, we are throwing color to the wind! Run through clouds of color and enjoy educational and cultural programs and entertainment. Register at GlazerMuseum.org. 

ZooTampa at Lowry Park: 

ZooTampa Baby Stroll Passport

Our favorite zoo has a new name and new plans for an enhanced and expanded future! There are some new things you can experience now like Toddler Tuesdays, which is held once a month and designed with our youngest kiddos in mind. There are crafts, animal meet and greets, a story time and more!  

We also love the new Baby Stroll Passport! Pick one up as you enter the park and flip through the pages to find out where you can meet the zoo’s newest additions like Holly Berry the pygmy hippo!

The new ride, Roaring Springs is also set to open this spring! Kids as young as 4 will be able to experience this new water ride! Zootampa.org 

Busch Gardens/Adventure Island: 

The new Vanish Point water slide at Adventure Island opened in March! If you haven’t braved this thrilling ride yet, put it on your spring and summer bucket list!  

The slide features 2 pods that you step into before you make a 20 foot, 80 degree plunge and then slide on through 425 feet of twists and turns! You can also opt for a horizontal slide down instead on a third new water slide. Adventureisland.com 

The Florida Aquarium:

The Florida Aquarium 4-D Theater

The all-new Splash and Bubbles: 4-D Undersea Adventure premiers Friday, April 6 at The Florida Aquarium’s 4-Ducks Theater by The Splash Pad! Your child’s favorite under the sea PBS Kids characters will take them on an adventure filled with music and fun while teaching them about the importance of ocean conseration. Don’t miss it–it will only run through Thursday, May 17, 2018! It’s included with admission. flaquarium.org
