Road trip to Orlando | Bass Pro, Gingerbread Houses and Disney Springs

By Heather DeManche

With only a couple of weekends left and dozens of locations for your little ones to see jolly old St. Nick, why not get your yuletide spirit on with a day trip to Orlando! See Santa at Bass Pro, visit the massive gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and view the Disney themed Christmas trees at Disney Springs while enjoying some snowfall.

Santa’s wonderland at Bass Pro shops offers something fun for all ages. Visit Santa and get a free picture with him, while also touring the Wonderland which boasts activities such as  archery, fishing video games, a carousel, remote control cars, Lincoln logs, a kinetic sand table and more. The experience also includes a free craft, which changes every week.

After a visit with Santa, you can take a stroll through the Victorian themed Christmas display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, which features a giant ginger bread house. Honestly, you could spend most of the day monorail hopping to see the wonderfully decorated Disney hotels.

Finally, grab dinner at Disney Springs and walk through the Christmas tree trail, where you can stroll through 27 uniquely designed Disney Christmas trees, while listening to festive music and enjoying the snowfall. Before leaving, don’t forget to snag your free piece of chocolate at the Ghirardelli ice cream & chocolate shop.
