Spring Break Camps 2015

Spring break is just around the corner, which means your kids have a whole week away from school. If you are worried about leaving your kids home during the entire break, check out some of these fun spring break camps from around the Bay Area!

The dates for each county’s spring break are:

Hillsborough County: March 9-13
Pasco County: March 16-20
Pinellas County:  March 30- April 3

MOSI Spring Break Camps
There is no better place than MOSI to spend the day doing lots of fun STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) activities! Bring snacks and wear clothing that can get messy. Advanced registration is required. Extended hours available from 7 – 9 a.m. and 4 – 6 p.m. for an additional $5 per day.

Lowry Park Zoo Camps
No School?  No Problem! K-8th grade students, join Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo for fun and education during school breaks. A typical day at camp includes: zoo hikes, classroom lessons with pictures & artifacts, daily animal encounter or animal enrichment, arts & crafts projects, animal shows, animal feedings, keeper talks, and educational videos.

Spring Camp Connect
Spring has sprung and so has Camp Connect! Let’s bring the outside indoors with some science, sunshine and fun. Solve a mystery, investigate bugs, and more this Spring Break! YMCA and the Glazer Children’s Museum have partnered to bring a fun spring break camp to kids ages K-4.

Great Explorations Schools Out Camps
Ahoy Matey! Join Great Explorations for an exciting spring break camp! You’ll hear tales about pirates, ships, and gold, and a create treasure chest of our very own! Little Captains will embark on their own adventures of the sea and learn about the history of Gasparilla and the Tampa Bay Pirates. This week will be one you’ll neverrrr forget! The camp is open to kids K-5.

“No School” Camps with the City of Tampa
Any day there is no school is a great day at the park! Tampa Parks and Recreation Department’s No School Day Camps and Holiday Camps provides an alternative for days when school is not in session. Each day will be filled with a variety of activities including arts & crafts, special events, and physical & recreational activities. Registration is required. 

Pirates and Explorers Spring Break Camp
Ahoy, mateys! Climb aboard at the Tampa Bay History Center and use your navigation skills to reveal the truth about female pirates, Jose Gaspar (of Gasparilla fame) and Captain Panfilo Narvaez, the real-life, one-eyed explorer of Tampa Bay. Join us for games and crafts as professional underwater archaeologists help you solve mysteries of sunken ships! Round out the week with a ride on the TECO Streetcar to take a tour of the American Victory Ship! This camp is open for kids ages 7-11. 

Spring into Science
Clearwater Marine Aquarium educators will present engaging science curriculum with hands-on experiences. Campers will be immersed in science exploration and experimentation which will excite and inspire as we study Clearwater Bay. Campers will board a Clearwater Marine Aquarium vessel and study the local ecosystem while participating in plankton tows and net pulls.

SPCA Tampa Compassion Camps
Compassion Camps with the Tampa SPCA teaches children how to interact with and appreciate animals and also teaches kids ages 6-10 years old how to communicate and how to work as a team. This camp is available for a variety of dates and is a day camp.
