By Katelyn Schur

Head over to Curtis Hixon Park for Tampa Bay’s Tailgate Taste Fest, FREE this year on October 6th from 3:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. Activities and food will be abundant to satisfy all in attendance with food trucks from local and national restaurants serving up the tastiest tailgate grub around. Also, coming this year like never before will be a FREE concert starring two of Nashville’s hottest new stars: Jimmie Allen and Craig Campbell!

For the foodies, a food sampler or VIT (Very Important Tailgater) wristband will be available for the serious tailgaters. This exclusive wristband will allow VIT guests to receive one complimentary sample from each participating restaurant with special access to the VIT tent including a full open bar.

This year, a huge cornhole tournament competition will take place including 16 teams from those in attendance, hosted by Moe’s Southwest Grill. Kids will have their chance for fun too with numerous games and other activities with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning, USF, Valspar Championship, and Coca-Cola Beverages Florida.

Huge LED screens will play the day’s highlights from the college football games which will be announced once the games are determined closer to the date. As the afternoon winds down and the evening begins, one of the screens will play the Tampa Bay Lightning game at 7:00 p.m.

All you need to bring is yourselves, your families, and your chairs! Everything else will be provided at the event. For VIT or food-sampler bands, or for more information head over to tailgatetastefest.com
