Target’s Car Seat Trade-In Program Returns April 22-May 4

By Laura Byrne

Target’s popular car seat trade-in program is returning this Sunday, April 22 through May 4, 2019! For this limited time, you will be able to turn in an unused or expired car seat at guest services and receive a voucher for 20% off your next purchase of a car seat, car seat base, booster seat or stroller at Target stores or online at Target.com. You’ll have to redeem that voucher by May 11, 2019.

Learn more here.

Why is Target doing this?

To help save the planet! The car seats you turn in will be recycled by Waste Management which will turn your old seats into things like shopping carts, buckets and construction materials!

Target has held several recycling programs like this and has collected 176,000+ car seats which equals out to 2.6 million+ pounds of waste that DID NOT end up in land fills! Pretty cool.

We knew we already loved Target, but now we love them even more!

Speaking of love…we are loving all of the valuable information Michelle Pratt of Safe in the Seat shared with us during our Facebook Live at the Target on Gandy Blvd in Tampa.

We met with her to learn more about what we as parents can do to better ensure our children’s safety on the road. Did you know as many as 90% of us are not properly using our children’s car seats?? It’s staggering. The certified car seat inspector shares important tips and advice on what to look for in your new car seat or booster seat along with some other great safety tips you must hear!

Check out our interview with Michelle from 2018 (info the same, but dates are not for 2019’s program.)
