Our 10 favorite things to do this weekend in Tampa Bay

By Laura Byrne

The weekend is here and the forecast for FUN is 100%! Saturday is predicted to be a beautiful day, so why not gather up the kids and head to the Gasparilla Children’s Parade in Tampa!

If a parade isn’t in your forecast, check out a new park on our list of our favorite playgrounds and parks in Tampa Bay or go for a stroll along the best beaches for kids!

On Monday, most kids are out of school in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. There are several family-friendly parades and celebrations you can take the kids to this weekend and on Monday! Here are our favorites!

Gasparilla Children’s Parade: Saturday, January 19 from 11am-6:30pm
We had to list this one first because it’s such a beloved tradition for families in Tampa Bay! It is so much more than a parade, too! One of our favorite things to do is to go early when festivities kick off at 11am and join Tampa Police at the Bicycle Safety Rodeo. You don’t have to bring a bike for the kids, they’ll have plenty there for kids of all ages to navigate the bike course. You child can even get fitted for a helmet. Then find your spot along the parade route to watch the Preschooler’s Stroll at 1:30 and the Children’s Parade at 3:30pm! We’re sharing all you need to know HERE!
