Healthy Kids Day with the YMCA! | Saturday, April 27, Times and locations throughout Tampa Bay
Don’t miss this FREE EXTRAVAGANZA to promote healthy kids and families while introducing your child to the amazing activities and camps this summer at your local YMCA. 20 YMCA locations throughout the area will be hosting events, so be sure to find one near you! Great American Clean Up with The Florida Aquarium and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful at Picnic Island Park in Tampa | Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 am-11:00 am (registration starts at 8:30am)
More than 75 volunteers will be cleaning up Picnic Island Park with even more expected to join in on the day of restoration. Volunteers will also get the chance to plant mangroves. Bring your closed toed shoes, hat, sunglasses and water. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. flaquarium.org
Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival in Clearwater Beach | April 12-28, times vary
Enjoy Florida’s famous sugar sands and golden sunsets at the Sugar Sand Festival in Clearwater Beach. This 17-day festival is sure to have something for everyone, from a children’s play area to street performer, concerts, fireworks and of course sand sculpting. Check it out at sugarsandfestival.com.
Patel Conservatory presents Seussical, Jr. | Dates through April 28, times vary
Performed by students age 5-8, follow Horton on his journey through the world of Dr. Seuss as he encounters the Who’s. Fun for all ages! Tickets start at $15. strazcenter.org
Tampa International Dragon Boat Festival in Tampa | Saturday, April 27 from 8:00 am-7:00 pm
Head to Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park in Tampa or grab a seat anywhere along the Riverwalk to take in the action of this annual event. This is one of the newest fundraising events hosted by The Junior League of Tampa which aims to raise promote health and wellness across Tampa Bay. There will be live music, food trucks, activities and more! It is FREE to attend. www.jltampa.org/dragonboat
Frozen Sing-A-Long at Tampa Theatre | Saturday, April 27 at 3:00 pm
Tampa Theatre’s kid-centric movie series is wrapping up with a bang. Belt along with Elsa and Anna as they discover the meaning of true love in “Frozen.” Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for kids, and $10 for Members. tampatheatre.org
Art Spot at the Tampa Museum of Art | Saturday, April 27 from 11 am-2 pm
Kids can attend this free workshop to create a masterpiece of their very own under the guidance of a professional art instructor. tampamuseum.org
Dilly Dally with Dali | Saturday, April 27 from 12:00 pm-2:30 pm
Bring the whole family to the Dali Museum in St. Pete! Children can participate in the Little Surrealist Tour at 11:00am and then create their own masterpieces during Dilly Dally with Dali at 12:00pm thedali.org
Let’s Roll -Skating Rink Pop-Up at Armature Works | Saturday, April 27 from 12:00 pm-9:00 pm
The Gathering event space will be transformed into a mobile skating rink where you’ll be able to rent some skates and roll along to live music, arcade games, a full bar, popcorn and MORE! This is a family-friendly event, so why not introduce the kids to an old-fashioned past time! Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. This fee includes skate rentals and one hour of skate time.
Tea for Tots at Oxford Exchange in Tampa | Sunday, April 28 from 2:00 pm -3:00 pm
Enjoy tea and a story every last Sunday of the month. Best suited for children between the ages of 2-7, but children of all ages are welcome. April’s story is “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” by Laura Joffe Numeroff. oxfordexchange.com
Day of Discovery at ZooTampa | Saturday, April 27 from 8:00 am-9:30 am
ZooTampa is teaming up with MOSI and The Florida Aquarium to offer a morning of sensory-friendly activities for children and their families during the month of April. The Zoo will be open to participants only during this special event, however a families are invited to stay and play after. Learn more here.
Sunshine Sunday at Glazer Children’s Museum | Sunday, April 28 from 10:00 am-1:00 pm$5
Sunshine Sunday is a special morning on the last Sunday of every month. This program is a limited-engagement event for children with special needs and their caregivers. Children can explore the Museum with lights and sounds turned down and sensory adapted tools, special programs, and community resources at their fingertips. MOSI Science After Dark | Friday, April 26 from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm
Don’t let the kids have all of the fun at MOSI! Your favorite science center is hosting adults 18+ for a night of science, fun, and hands on experiences! Activities include robotics, rockets, DNA, astronomy and MORE! It’ll be OUT OF THIS WORLD! You’ll also be able to sample light appetizers and beer and wine. Be among the first to go back in time at our favorite science museum to learn about our planet Earth and the creatures and plants that lived here millions of years ago! The Dinovations Lab key feature is the Diplodocus dinosaur skeleton, a cast molding made from real dinosaur bones discovered in the USA!
