INSIDE LOOK: A Nose to Horn Experience at ZooTampa

A Nose to Horn Encounter with a Southern White Rhino at ZooTampa You’ll Never Forget

There are so many unique experiences we can have together as a family in Tampa Bay and one of our favorite things to do with our kids is getting up close and personal with animals at area attractions like ZooTampa at Lowry Park.

ZooTampa’s Southern White Rhino Backstage Tour is an encounter you and the kids will never forget. As the zoo’s Chris Massaro says, how many times in your lifetime will you get to get thisclose to a 5,000 pound rhino? It’s a tactile experice that will last about 30 minutes and is best for kids ages 5 and up.

There are less than 20,000 Southern White Rhinos left in the world, so the species is considered endangered.

The Encounters are $10 for Zoo Members and $15 for non-members, but priceless when you consider the memories you’ll make! Learn more here.

Experiences like this are not only unique, but they help teach our kids the importance of preserving our environment and protecting animals like the Southern Rhino. These experiences make great gift ideas too!

The enconters are offered once per day, so be sure to register first online!
