Spend your summer with American Girl© characters from three different periods in history or, unmask the myths behind pirates and explorers at the Tampa Bay History Center! Our camps – American Girl© and Swashbuckling Summer – feature hands on experiences including games, crafts, outdoor activities, gallery time and guest speakers. Each camp is led by experienced educators who provide fun and engaging educational activities. 

  • Ages 7-11
  • June 10 – July 26
  • $215 weekly
  • 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Extended care available.

History Adventure Camps

Open to children ages 7-11, History Adventure Camps include hands on experiences including games, crafts, outdoor activities, gallery time and guest speakers. At the conclusion of each camp, each child will take home a memory book of their adventures. Each week-long Adventure Camp is led by experienced educators who provide hands-on, educational activities for campers. Join the History Center for one or more of these week-long adventures

American Girl©

Spend your summer with American Girl© characters from three different periods in history – Cecile & Marie-Grace (1853), Kit (1934), and Julie (1974). Campers will learn about each era, along with Tampa’s history.

Swashbuckling Summer

Unmask the myths behind pirates, discover legends about mermaids, ‘dive’ into waters with maybe-not-so-mysterious sea creatures during Swashbuckling Summer! Campers will immerse themselves in Florida and Tampa history by focusing on pirates and explorers.

Camp Dates

  • June 10 – 14: Swashbuckling Summer
  • June 24 – 28: American Girl©
  • July 8 – 12: Swashbuckling Summer
  • July 22 – 26: American Girl©

Along with daily games, crafts and activities, each camp includes:

Capacity and Pricing

Capacity: 24 campers per week of camp

Pricing: $215 for nonmembers, 20% member discount; Extended care available for $35 (Hours: 8-9 a.m. & 4-5:30 p.m.)
