Tampa Bay Parenting’s Favorite New Year’s Eve Events

There is no shortage of family-friendly events in Tampa Bay to celebrate New Year’s Eve! You can celebrate with a Noon Year’s Eve if you have young children at home or even head to the beach to watch a spectacular fireworks display to ring in 2017. We are wishing everyone a safe and happy 2017!

Happy Noon Year’s Eve Party  | Dec. 30, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Enjoy dancing, entertainment, door prizes and light refreshments at Largo Community Center. Celebrate the New Year early with a champagne toast at noon. Tickets are $5 per person.  Everyone


Noon Year’s Eve at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo  | Dec. 31, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Ring in the New Year family style at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo for a midday celebration. The party includes live entertainment, games and activities, character appearances and more. Watch the countdown and welcome the New Year with noisemakers, hats and a juice toast. Activities included with paid zoo admission or zoo membership.  Everyone


New Year’s Noon at Great Explorations  | Dec. 31, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Start off the New Year with a dance party, a parade around the museum and a balloon drop at noon at Great Explorations Children’s Museum in St. Pete. Then, families can stay to play and make resolutions for 2017.  Everyone


Downtown Countdown at Glazer Children’s Museum  | Dec. 31, noon – 5 p.m.

Ring in 2017 at the top of every hour at Glazer Children’ Museum’s in downtown Tampa. Sip on kiddie party punch, design your own party hat, or take part in the Resolution Wall. Don’t miss out on bubble wrap fireworks, dance parties and balloon drops starting at noon.  Everyone


Aqua-Eve New Year’s Celebration  | Dec. 31, 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. (Adults 21 and older only)

Splash into 2017 with great food, beer and wine, entertainment and a champagne toast at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa. Catch an amazing fireworks display over the Bay with the best view in town. Party guests must be 21 or older. Tickets start at $120.  Moms, Dads


Kids’ New Year’s Eve at LEGOLAND  | Dec. 31

Come out to LEGOLAND Florida for a kid-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration at the Winter Haven park. The giant LEGO brick drops at 7 p.m. Catch a dance party and stay for the fireworks, all before midnight.  Everyone


New Year’s Eve at Busch Gardens  | Dec. 31

Join in for an awesome year-end celebration at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Enjoy thrill rides in the dark, jam to music throughout the park and catch the fireworks show in Gwazi Park after the countdown. Dive in the dark on Falcon’s Fury and join in on a park-wide countdown to the New Year. Festivities are included with paid park admission.  Everyone


First Night St. Pete  | Dec. 31   Events begin at 4 p.m.

An alcohol-free celebration in downtown St. Petersburg.  Begins at 4 p.m. in Straub Park at Beach Drive and Fifth Avenue NE with live music, art and entertainment at more than two dozen venues. Activities include a drum circle, a Human Foosball Court, banyan tree climbing, a Resolution Bonfire and a skating rink. Free to walk around, but nominal fee ($15 adults, $10 ages 6-12) for activities and to enter venues.


New Year’s Eve Outback Bowl Parade – Ybor City   | Dec. 31  Parade starts at 5:30pm, but get there early

Eclectic Ybor City is the site of this festive celebration featuring the Outback Bowl New Year’s Eve Parade and a pep rally. The parade will feature floats and about twenty marching bands including the two college bands! The Pep Rally features a battle of the bands and cheerleaders from both universities. This free family event is sponsored by our friends at Bud Light, 970 WFLA, Mix 100.7 FM Radio, 98Rock and the City of Tampa. Be there early. The Parade starts at 5:30 p.m. and runs along 7th Avenue.  Please note: no coolers, glass containers or open alcohol allowed on streets.


New Year’s Eve Channelside Fireworks Celebration  | Dec. 31

Ring in the New Year at the largest Fireworks Celebrations in Tampa Bay at the 2016 New Year’s Eve Channelside Fireworks Celebration!  Channelside Bay Plaza hosts the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks celebration with the open air entertainment venue located in the heart of the Channelside District in Downtown Tampa.  Fireworks at midnight.
