Family-Friendly Fourth of July Events in Tampa Bay 2021

Independence Day is fast approaching, and that means it’s time to figure out how to celebrate. This year, there are a number of cool Fourth of July events in Tampa and we’re thrilled fireworks are BACK!

‘Boom by the Bay’ returns this year to Tampa and the inaugural ‘The Fourth’ will be celebrated in St. Pete with a three day celebration!

But, there’s more! To help you find a Fourth of July event near you, here’s a list of the best events with all the information you need to plan your Independence Day celebration:

Boom by the Bay Fourth of July events

Tampa’s Boom by the Bay 2021 | Sunday, July 4 from 5pm-7pm

Tampa is going BIG for this year’s Fourth of July celebration with SIX fireworks displays along the downtown Tampa riverfront with family-friendly activities and events at each location. There will also be a new Friends of the Riverwalk July 4th Boat Parade and Blessing of the Fleet from 5-7pm along the Tampa Riverwalk!

Boom by the Bay events and fireworks locations:

  • Independence Day in the Heights at Armature Works: 5 pm
  • Tampa Convention Center/The Sail Pavilion: 5pm (The Sail opens at 11 am)
  • Hard Rock Take Over at Julian B Lane Riverfront Park: 7 pm
  • Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park presented by Downtown Partnership: 7 pm
  • Star Spangled at Sparkman: 3:30 pm
  • Bayshore Boulevard (South of Davis Islands Bridge): 7pm
  • There will be additional food trucks at Water Works Park and Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park at 7 pm

Save on admission to Glazer Children’s Museum | Sunday, July 4

You’ll get $4 off admission to Glazer Children’s Museum on Independence Day–it’s a great way to cool off before attending Boom by the Bay events! The museum will be open for one extra hour too on Sunday from 1pm-7pm.

July 4th Boat Parade and Blessing of the Fleet in Tampa | Sunday, July 4 from 5pm-7pm

The Friends of the Riverwalk will celebrate July 4th with an inaugural July 4th Boat Parade and Blessing of the Fleet. The parade route will be similar to the holiday light boat parade, plus three blessing stations. (The Blessing of the Fleet is a tradition that began years ago but is still practiced in many fishing and boating communities around the world to ensure a safe and bountiful season.) The parade begins in the Convention Center basin, travels to the Heights, and ends at Sparkman Wharf.  Public viewing locations include:

  • Davis Island
  • Harbour Island
  • Sparkman Wharf
  • Water Works Park

Fourth of July Tampa Fireworks Cruises  | Sunday, July 4, board at 7 pm

The Tampa Yacht Starship cruises are a perfect choice for your Independence Day celebration. Your ticket will include the cruise, buffet meal, open bar, DJ entertainment, and a fireworks show to end the night! You can also expect a great view of the fireworks shows in downtown Tampa. Tickets sell out early, so make sure to get yours soon.

The Fourth at the St Pete Pier | July 2-4

The Fourth is an Inaugural Independence Day celebration you won’t want to miss! Events will be hosted on multiple days starting on Friday, July 2nd from 5pm-10pm with events and activities for the whole family. On Saturday, July 3rd, the celebration continues from 12 pm-10 pm with a finale on July 4 from 6am to 9pm, capping off the three day event with a fireworks show that will be able to be seen from the downtown waterfront, Bayshore Drive, Straub Parks, Vinoy Park and more. Busch Gardens Independence Day Extended Fireworks Shows | Friday-Sunday, July 2-4

Busch Gardens’ brightest nighttime spectacular is getting even bigger for the 4th of July weekend! Look to the sky for an extended presentation of “Spark!” featuring an extra patriotic finale for three incredible nights of red, white and BOOM! the extended “Spark! A Nighttime Spectacular” launch at 9:15 pm July 2-4. Busch Gardens is also offering limited-time discounts on Fun Cards and Annual Passes! Learn more by visiting:

Summer Classics at Tampa Theatre: Watch Glory | Sunday, July 4 at 3 pm and 7:30 pm

If you’d rather seek some shade and a/c indoors, head to the Tampa Theatre for a history lesson on the silver screen at the Tampa Theatre to view Glory about the Civil War. Learn more here and book your tickets:

Red, White and BOOM at LEGOLAND Florida Resort | Saturday and Sunday, July 3 and 4

Celebrate America’s Independence Day as the skies above Lake Eloise fill with colorful fireworks. Complimentary fireworks glasses transform the fireworks into bursting LEGO® bricks! Before the sun goes down, guests can help create a giant U.S. flag out of thousands of LEGO bricks..

Fourth of July Picnic in Craig Park and Fireworks at Sunset Beach  | Sunday, July 4 

The picnic is back! Celebrate the Fourth with a classic picnic that includes a water slide, paddle boarding, inflatables, lawn games, and more. There will also be a hot dog eating contest at noon as well as live entertainment from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Return at 7:30 to make sure you see the fireworks show! Learn more here.

Safety Harbor Fourth of July Parade and Celebration | Sunday, July 4 from 10 a.m to noon and 5- 9 p.m.

In the morning wear your red, white and blue to Main Street in Safety Harbor for a patriotic Independence Day parade. At night, head over to the Safety Harbor marina for live entertainment, children’s activities, food vendors and more. And of course, you don’t want to miss the fireworks show at 9 p.m.

Clearwater Celebrates America at the Ball Park  | Sunday, July 4, 6 p.m.

Celebrate Independence Day with the largest fireworks show the stadium has seen! This year’s event is ticketed, so you’ll need to buy your $5 ticket in advance. There will be live music by the Black Honkeys, family-friendly fun and of course, the fireworks in Coachman Park.

Fourth of July Fireworks in Largo at Largo Central Park | Sunday, July 4 from 7 pm-9 pm 

Celebrate the country’s birthday with food, entertainment and activities for all-ages! There will also be fireworks, so bring your blankets and chairs. The event is free to attend, but parking is $10. This year’s event is presented by Indian Rocks Beach Baptist Church and Fastbreaks Entertainment.

Treasure Island Fireworks Show | Sunday, July 4 at 9pm

Watch a stunning display of patriotic fireworks from the beach. You’ll want to arrive a bit early to ensure you get a parking spot. There will be parking for $20 at Treasure Island Park. Learn more here.

6th Annual Zephyrhills Summerfest and Fireworks Show | Sunday, July 4 from 12 pm-9 pm

After going on hiatus in 2020 like almost every other event, Summerfest is coming back strong with a day filled with FREE family-friendly fun! There will be live music, food eating contests, kids dance off, live music, market, bounce house and water slides, food trucks, and so much more! Learn more here. 

July 4th Celebration at Avalon Park West | Sunday, July 4, 5- 9 p.m.

For a celebration including food trucks, community performances, bike parades, contests, bounce park and much more, head to Avalon Park West! This event is free to the public. There will also be a fireworks show for you to enjoy!
