Goody Goody Turkey Gobble 5k/8k: Coming in November!

We usually celebrate Thanksgiving by eating a great meal of turkey, stuffing, and more. This year, you can celebrate Thanksgiving by participating in the Goody Goody Turkey Gobble 5k/8k! The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA and Goody Goody restaurant invite all of Tampa to participate in this race held on Thanksgiving day!

The annual race will be take place on the scenic Bayshore Boulevard. You can choose whether to participate in the 5k, the 8k, or the 1 mile race. Races will start at 7am on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 23rd.

The Goody Goody Turkey Gobble 5k and 8k races will be chip-timed and the first place runners from overall male/female adult and male/female youth will receive a prize! First place prizes will also be awarded by age group. But don’t worry! Everyone, regardless of finish time, will receive a finisher’s medal! You will also be provided with a dri-fit t-shirt if you participate in the 5k or the 8k. Goody Goody will also be providing a post-race breakfast!

The race may not be until Thanksgiving, but the party starts earlier than that! On Tuesday, November 21st you can go to the pre-race party at Ferg’s Live, next to Amalie Arena, from 5pm to 7pm. You will also be able to pick up your packet from 11am to 7pm at Ferg’s on November 21st.

To take part in this Tampa Thanksgiving tradition, make sure you register online! Registration is $35 for the 5k, $40 for the 8k, and $15 for the 1 mile race. On race day, registration prices will go up. Dogs and strollers are also welcome in the race!

On Thanksgiving, we give thanks for all we have. But, we can also give to others. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, all proceeds from this race will go towards the YMCA Livestrong program for cancer survivors and their families. The Livestrong program is 12 weeks long and is provided for free to help those affected by cancer. It provides a safe, supportive environment in which participants are able to take part in physical and social activities. The program focuses on developing strength in a person and is helpful to many who have dealt with cancer in their lives.
