Tampa, Florida — Bus drivers and transportation employees with Hillsborough County Schools magnet schools are playing the role of Santa, delivering 80+ bikes to Metropolitan Ministries‘ Holiday Tent near downtown Tampa. Who needs Rudolph or Santa’s sleigh…when you’ve got a big yellow bus to make the special delivery?!?!
They have spent months raising money to buy the bikes that will go to children in our community who otherwise would not have access to a new bicycle. Last year, they raised enough money to purchase two bikes, but decided to up the ante this year (or shall we say, reindeer antlers) to help even more children in our community. They didn’t just buy the more than 80 bikes, but also purchased helmets and other accessories.
Way to go ladies and gentleman! We are lucky to count you among our neighbors in Tampa Bay!
