The coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak is going to leave a lasting mark in our history. This has been an incredibly challenging time for almost every family in Tampa Bay, in fact…it’s an emotional roller coaster being felt worldwide.
Non-profits have experienced a surge in people asking for help and our Tampa Bay organizations are no different.
If you are able, your family CAN make a difference immediately to help our neighbors in need.
Here are some ways you can help Tampa Bay Area families during the COVID-19 outbreak today:
Feeding Tampa Bay: Feeding Tampa Bay is ramping up response to COVID-19, but with big changes to the normal distribution of food. Volunteers and donations are still needed.
End 68 Hours of Hunger Tampa Bay: This group is collecting donations to help feed 600 kids in the Tampa Bay Area while they are out of school. As you know, the state and school districts are ensuring kids get the meals they need while not in school. You can learn more about those efforts here.
Metropolitan Ministries: The non-profit has seen in a surge in families asking for help. If you are able, they are looking for financial and food donations of cereal, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned meats, beans, peanut butter, baby food, and baby formula. There is also a need for diapers, hygiene items.
Donate Blood: OneBlood is in urgent need of blood donations from healthy adults. Since news of the COVID-19 outbreak started gaining steam, blood donations dropped rapidly across the country. Even the FDA is urging people to donate.
