School may be out, but that doesn’t mean that having fun with history is out as well.
Connect with Manatee Village Historical Park for their Hands-On History Hours for children 6+. Families will participate in activities for each themed session; these theme days include pioneer food, the Civil War, cow hunting, blacksmithing, and pioneer fun.
Each Tuesday in July families will be led in historically-based interactive activities that will include butter making, creating cattle brands, cane syrup sampling, constructing a pioneer toy or game, quill and ink writing, and more. These activities will include take home souvenirs to commemorate you child’s fun day in Manatee Village.
The program is free of cost but registration is required for supply reasons. Space is limited, but families can register for one day, any, or all of them in advance. While the event is for children, a parent or guardian must attend the entire session and younger siblings are welcome as well.
Manatee Village suggests packing a picnic park and making a day of your visit by taking the family to the onsite Junior Junction Playground after the event.
You can register here if you’re ready for a day of old fashioned fun!
