My daughter, Molly, is a 9 year Extraordinary Girl Brownie for many reasons, but mostly because she is selfless and always wants to do good for others in our community who are in need. Molly is a model student at Pinellas Prep Academy earning great grades. She is team captain for Crusaders for a Cure which takes part in fundraising and walking in the Alzheimer Memory each September at The Pier. Last year her team raised over $1,200 and had 12+ members. Molly is an active member of First Unity St Pete and is on the Sacred Service team which supports community outreach. Every year at Christmas Molly donates time to the angel tree project encouraging church members to “adopt” a needy child and help make their Christmas the best it can be. She always “adopts” a child herself and works hard to share what she has and get items they want by saving money she earns through out the year. As part of Foresters (a philanthropic insurance group) Molly served meals to families staying at Ronald McDonald House near All Children’s Hospital and took part in creating build-a-bears for children staying at the hospital. Molly was part of the Thrill St Pete team last year which raised money and needed items for the The Center for Great Apes. Always thinking of others first Molly is a shining example of how you can improve the community where you live and be involved. At age 9 she is known by many for the differences she makes. Her Brownie troop held a food drive last fall for the Free Clinic in St Pete and donated over 300lbs of food. Molly became a Brownie so she can share her shining light, learn how to be the best girl she can, and leadership skills. Her choir has lifted spirits at Bons Secours senior home and she visits veterans at Bay Pines VA where her Dad is employed. In her “free” time Molly is a hoola monster and performs her hoola hooping skills at the Saturday Morning Market. Molly also understands the importance of community and supporting local businesses and takes part in LocalShop1 activities such as CashMobs and Shopapalooza. Her smile is bright and wide and all who know Molly are thankful and blessed. I am proud to have Molly as my daughter, she reminds me every day how easy it is to life the best life and make life better for others.
