Brandon, Florida — When you are the parent of a new baby, life is amazing. It’s great. But, it’s also incredibly stressful and even isolating. You are likely getting by on just a few hours of sleep and may even feel lonely despite the number of visitors stopping by to meet your family’s new addition.
Know that you are not alone. Brandon Regional Hospital offers a Baby and Me Support Group for new moms and their babies. Â I’ve attended similar classes after having my babies and can tell you that it made a world of a difference during those first few months. Simply being in a room with other moms who are going through the same things you are going through helps build your self esteem and confidence as a new parent, but it’s also nice to just be able to connect with other women.
The Baby and Me Support Group meets every Monday from 10am-11am. Certified Mother/Baby nurses who are also certified lactation consultants lead the group each week. No questions are off limits, because as fellow moms…we know and we most definitely will not judge! There are also guest speakers and educational topics during some meet ups which we think is great!
If you don’t have time this month, put the classes on your January 2017 calendar. The first meet up of the new year is on Monday, January 2 at 10am. The group meets at Brandon Hospital which is located at 276 South Moon Ave. The meet up is held in Suite 260.
