Did you tune in to PBS Kids this week for the premiere of PEG + CAT? The all new series, aimed at preschoolers, focuses on math learning in a super fun way. Viewers can sing along as Peg strums her ukulele and rocks with her sidekick Cat. They embark on a variety of adventures across the globe. Along the way, Peg + Cat are teaching math concepts and skills through music. The simple melodies are catchy and make learning so much fun! On screen lyrics help build vocabulary and word familiarity.
In conjunction with the new series, PBS Kids also launched the Peg + Cat Big Gig app for iOS and Android tablets. Kids can practice counting, adding, and other math patterns. The Sound Check game had my kid making and recording music then playing it back for everyone in the family. She was so pleased to share her musical creations and I was happy to see she learned a few new skills.
Learning fun with PEG + CAT can also be found on the PBS Kids website.
