Who says you can’t be stylish and be prepared for the rain? Yes, I know the rain is incredibly difficult to dress for especially if one minute it’s sprinkling and the next it seems to be down-pouring. And for many that means grabbing a raincoat, boats and umbrella in hopes you and your belongings don’t get soaked. To end the rainy day clothing mishaps we have compiled a list of some chic outfits and accessories to have you looking great.
Don’t wear fabrics like silk or light colors like white as they tend to show rain splatters. As for pants stick with a black or dark jean or leggings as they won’t show signs of rain or muddy debris as easily. Don’t choose baggy pants as they won’t hold their shape when drenched and tight fitting clothes tend to dry faster.
Wear longer jackets as they tend to hold more coverage. Your umbrella can’t do all the work that’s why it’s important to get longer jackets as they offer more protection.
On days where it is only drizzling it’s okay to wear dresses as you won’t get soaking dripping wet.
Buy short rain boots. Why? Often times traditional tall rain boots are stiff making walking around in the rain harder. Also stay away from rubber as they don’t tend to breathe well.
As for umbrellas stick to bubble umbrellas, they are great for blocking heavy winds. Get a colorful umbrella or one with a design to add a little fun to your rainy day style.
If you tend to carry a lot of electronics or are worried about getting your designer purse ruined buy a waterproof purse or foldable nylon tote.
