Spring break is just almost here, which means your kids have a whole week away from school. If you are worried about leaving your kids home during the entire break, check out some of these fun spring break camps from around the Bay Area!

Come explore dinosaurs brought to life with modern day technology at MOSI. Interact with recycled life size metal dinosaur sculptures in MOSI’s special exhibit: “Dinosaurs in Motion.” Develop interactive simple machines such as a pulley system, learn what made dinosaurs unique and make your own recycled creature! Kids in grades Kindergarten through third can enjoy a week of fun by blending science, art and innovation. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $228 for nonmembers and $173 for MOSI members for the entire week. Extended hours are available from 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m for an additional $15. Join Great Explorations for a day or the week during this Spring Break camp about Australia. As kids travel through the Outback we will learn about Sydney, Melbourne, the Great Barrier Reef, and kangaroos! And while they’re exploring that side of the world they will learn about New Zealand too! Members save $5, not-yet members pay $40 per day. Camp hours are from 9 am to 3:30 pm. After care is available from 7:30 to 9 am and 3:30 to 5:30 for an additional $5 charge.

At MOSI kids in grades fourth through eighth will combine engineering, programming and creativity skills to make working robots and droids. Design and program robots to compete in a variety of challenges using LEGO MINDSTORMS AND TETRIX. Kids can learn to build LEGO robots from scratch and discover the thrill of battling bots and racing rovers. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $228 for nonmembers and $173 for MOSI members for the entire week. Extended hours are available from 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m for an additional $15. SPCA Tampa Compassion Camps Compassion Camps with the Tampa SPCA teaches children how to interact with and appreciate animals and also teaches kids ages 6-10 years old how to communicate and how to work as a team. This camp is available for a variety of dates and is a day camp.

Spring has sprung and so has Camp Connect. Glazer Children’s Museum and YMCA will be bringing the outside indoors with some science, sunshine and fun. Kids can solve mysteries, investigate bugs and participate in hands on activities. AM and pm camps are available for children enrolled in grades K-4. $45 for a full day and $22.50 for half a day. Clearwater Marine Aquarium educators will present an engaging science curriculum with hands-on experiences. Campers will be immersed in science exploration and experimentation which will excite and inspire as we study Clearwater Bay. Campers will board a Clearwater Marine Aquarium vessel and study the local ecosystem while participating in plankton tows and net pulls. In addition, campers will discover the properties of water, have hands-on practice using the scientific method as we conduct observations of our resident dolphins, access exclusive behind the scenes areas of our working marine animal hospital, and learn about exhibits before we open to the public each day. Practice identifying fish around The Aquarium while learning what makes a fish a fish and study the diversity of fishes. Join us for a refreshing swim in the Coral Reef tank (required to be 6 years old) followed by a trip to the beach! Registration fee is $220 for Members $275 for Non-Members. This camp is for kids in grades kindergarten through fifth.

Hockey skaters can improve their skills and will receive dry land training and participate in scrimmages. Practice starts at 8:30 am and ends at 2:30 pm. Daily rate is $50 and three days is $120. Additional family members receive a 10 percent discount. Hurry space is limited to the first 25 skaters.
Kids will discover treasure buried in the sand, hidden in tombs, and scattered on the ocean floor! Campers at Great Explorations will learn what treasures are, where they can be found, and create some treasures of their very own! Members save $5, not-yet members pay $40 per day. Camp hours are from 9 am to 3:30 pm. After care is available from 7:30 to 9 am and 3:30 to 5:30 for an additional $5 charge.
Kids can flex brain muscles and tickle their funny bone by playing games that use their imagination, plus their ability to think ahead. Explore why games and exercise are important for your body and mind! The program at MOSI is split into two groups kindergarten to second grade and third to fifth grade. Program fee is $33 for non members and $25 for members.
Discover why water is so important. Play water games, test water samples around the Florida Aquarium and explore how aquatic critters, plants and land animals use water. We will visit Explore A Shore if weather permits! Camp starts from 9 am to 4 pm. $50 for Members $65 for Non-Members.

Zoo School is headquarters for more than 100 weeklong camps for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Kids and teens can learn about nature, science and the animal kingdom while hiking through the zoo, exploring behind-the-scenes and cooling off in the water play areas. Adventure camps include animal encounters, keeper talks, educational shows, games and crafts. Camp is $180 and $200 for members, additional extended care is $25.
