Mary Poppins the Musical
It’s a jolly holiday with Mary! Last night, our family went to see Mary Poppins at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Tampa. Going to see a musical show at The Straz Center is always a memorable experience but this production is extra special.  The music, recognizable to most folks, was performed so well by the talented cast and live orchestra.  It was interesting to see how the sets moved around the stage and transformed the space into the rooftops and streets of London, English gardens, and the Banks family home.
We were captivated by the singing, dancing, and storytelling. Even though we’re very familiar with the story, it seemed fresh. Some of the special effects had the audience gasping but I’d rather let you discover those details on your own.
Mary Poppins the Musical will be on stage at the Straz Center in downtown Tampa through December 30, 2012. Go before the winds change direction and carry Mary Poppins out of town! It’s the perfect spoon full of sugar for your whole family.
