Sydney Bagrowski

Extraordinary girl nomination

Sydney is a 6th grade student who has a lot on her plate, and does it all extraordinarily! She is in 4 Advanced Honors classes, and made straight A’s this past semester. She gave up the chance to join the school orchestra so that she could take a 7th grade level math class (in addition to her regular 6th grade honors math class). So that she can try out for orchestra next year, she is currently taking cello lessons.

She rides horses as part of 4H and plays soccer (she is undoubtedly one of the best goalies in her league).

She is also in girl scouts and has earned her Bronze Award. The project was collecting and donating pet food and toys to the Humane Society. She is currently working toward her Silver Award and is doing research to decide what she wants to do, which is difficult as she wants to help everyone. With her girl scout troop, she has volunteered at a local food bank, visited the children at A Kids Place to donate items and play games with them, and she enjoys working with her troop’s “sister” girl scout Brownie troop.

On her own, she created a campaign called “Cuddles for Cancer” and collected between 60-70 new stuffed animals, which she then delivered to the Children’s Cancer Center in Tampa, FL.
