Earlier this week, I saw TRACES at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Tampa. The show is an exciting combination of dance, music, acrobatics, and even some skateboarding and basketball thrown in for fun. The seven members of the cast work seamlessly together to create a memorable, high energy, fun performance. At one point in the show, you could hear the precious laughter of a small child in the audience. The giggles were proof that even the tiniest theater goers were enjoying this unique show.
TRACES has been described as a “thrilling modern brand of circus with a street smart twist” by Time Out NY. The sets are minimal because the real heart of the performance is the combined talent of the ensemble. Solo dances, paired duets, singing, narratives, and so much more help draw the audience in to the action.
TRACES is on stage at the Straz Center through Sunday evening. The Straz Center is offering a generous ticket discount for some of the remaining performances. Please contact the Straz Center Box Office for details. Please feel free to share your comments about the show on the Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine Facebook page.
