INSIDE LOOK | Washed Ashore exhibit at Florida Aquarium

The Florida Aquarium is celebrating its 25th anniversary by hosting Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea.

This is the first time the art exhibit has been on display in Florida. The 18 art sculptures are awe-inspiring from a distance, but thought provoking as you take a closer look.

Each piece was created using plastic pollution and debris found along the shorelines of the West Coast. The goal is to educate us about the impact of one time use plastics and encourage the three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Be sure to take some time to read the plaques in front of each piece to learn more about what inspired the art, but also what your family can do to make a positive impact. There’s even a list of  items you can try to find in each sculpture.
