Where to see The Nutcracker in Tampa Bay and other holiday shows

The Nutcracker is back on stage in 2021 in Tampa Bay and we couldn’t be more excited! There are a few places where you go see the performance in person on both sides of the bay, including the Straz Center in Tampa.

If The Moscow Ballet’s The Nutcracker is part of your family’s annual tradition, they will not be performing in person in Florida in 2021, but they announced they will be back in 2022 in St. Pete. You can pre-purchase tickets here if you can’t wait!

We’re not just dishing the details on The Nutcracker…we’re also sharing some other festive holiday performances to experience with the kids like Cirque Dreams  Holidaze  at The Mahaffey and The Florida Orchestra Holiday Pops, so don’t stop the scroll.

*Keep in mind that many theaters have COVID precautions in place that may require you and your children to wear a mask. It is best to check with each theater to confirm what their policies are. 

The Nutcracker at The Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa | December 17-19, 2021

The Next Generation Ballet is back on stage at The Straz this December to perform the beloved ‘The Nutcracker’. The event will be held on select nights from December 17-December 19, 2021. Tickets start at $30. 

The Nutcracker at Palladium Theater in St. Pete | December 3, 2021

The St Petersburg Ballet Company will perform The Nutcracker on December 3rd at 7:30pm at the Palladium Theater in St. Pete. Tickets start at $25.

The Nutcracker at USF College of the Arts Theater in Tampa | December 18-19, 2021

The Dance Theatre of Tampa will perform ‘The Nutcracker’ at the USF College of the Arts Theater 1 on December 18 at 2pm and 7pm and December 19 at 2pm. They’ll feature guest and local dancers. Learn more at

In addition to the re-imagined ways to see the Nutcracker in Tampa Bay, there are other holiday performances on schedule. Keep in mind that many safety modifications in place, so be sure to do check with each venue before you go for the rules.

The Florida Orchestra Holiday Pops | December 10 – 12, 2021, multiple times and locations

Patel Conservatory’s Holiday Music Concert | December 14, 2021 at 7pm
The Straz Center in Tampa’s Ferguson Hall 
Celebrate the season with holiday classics, contemporary interpretations, and more! Join the Patel Conservatory Chamber Strings ensembles, Vocal Arts choirs and Suzuki Strings as we ring in the holidays, including a performance of the Hallelujah Chorus!

Rockapella Christmas | December 18, 2021, 8pm
Bilheimer Capitol Theatre
Rockapella brings it’s exciting, internationally acclaimed, a cappella sound back to the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre with a night of holiday classics! For their new Christmas show, the a capella superstars will perform holiday classics like “Silver Bells,” “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” and “White Christmas” with their original holiday hits “The Hope We Hold,” “Christmas Without You,” and more. $30 – $59

Trans-Siberia Orchestra | December 19, 2021 at 3pm and 7:30 pm
